Te Waipuna Puawai Appeal

GENEROSITY

We follow in the footsteps of Jesus like St Mary MacKillop and ‘never see a need without doing something about it’. This is why we support the Te Waipuna Puawai food and clothing appeal.

This year we will continue our on-going support of Te Waipuna Puawai by contributing each week to the food bank operated by the Sisters of Mercy, whose community initiative responds to needs of families in the Tamaki area. Two year levels are rostered on each week. On your child’s level week, if it is at all possible, please bring one of the following items to put in the food bin in their learning space or the basket in the office foyer:

  • Rice – 1 kg packets preferably
  • Dried pasta
  • Tinned fish, or tinned meat
  • Weetbix

The sisters would appreciate it if these were the only foods supplied, as with these staples, the families in their care can make a meal.

Bedding, women’s and children’s clothing and household goods are also useful.  Clothing can be left in the blue wheelie bin in the school office foyer; it’s preferable that larger items e.g. a cot or car seat and the like are dropped directly at Te Waipuna Puawai’s drop off point; 5 Waddell Ave, Pt England (if no-one there please leave close to the office door at the back of the property and out of sight from the road).

Thank you for your generosity.
